You’re watching the Financial News Network, I’m Nicole Dossous. Carnival Corporation reported 3rd quarter earnings of a $1.71 cents, better than analysts estimate of $1.63 per share. Revenue for the quarter rose 11.70% to 5.1 billion dollars, better than estimates of 4.91 billion dollars.
At this time, cummulative advanced bookings for the remainder of 2011 and the first half of 2012 are at higher prices with slightly lower occupancies compared to the prior year. Carnival Corpoaration chairman and CEO Mickey Arison said, “despite the uncertain economic environment, we have a strong base of business for the first half of 2012 and booking trends during the 3rd quarter have been solid. The increased level of importance consumers are placing on value continues to drive demand for our cruise products.
Carnival has a potential upside of 24.20%, based on a current price of $34.68, and an average consensus analyst price target of $43.08.
